Hey guys! Today I’m going to be talking about my trip to Luray Caverns. Back in 2016, my aunt from England came to visit the United States for the first time. My mom thought Luray Caverns would be a nice day trip to take her on.
Luray Caverns is located in Luray, Virginia. Luray Caverns is an underground cave/cavern system. The cave is about a 1.3 mile walking tour. Inside the cave, the temperature cool compared to how the weather is outside.

Inside the cavern, it is unbelievable. It’s crazy to think that this was created and preserved all by itself 400 million years ago. At one point in the tour, there is an organ that you can play. It echos through the cavern and sounds so beautiful.
There is one specific rock formation that looks line an elephant or a dog. What do you think it looks like? I think it looks more like an elephant.

Lastly, towards the end of the cavern before the exit there is a wishing well. This wishing well is so pretty, with clear blue water. The cool thing about the wishing well is that all the money that is collected in the well gets donated to different charities. For instance, they donated money to the American Cancer Society.
The area around Luray is also very beautiful. Luray is at the base of the Shenandoah valley. The area is very scenic with the Blue Ridge Mountain range. On my way back home, I stopped by a farm and met a goat.
Overall, this day trip was a lot of fun. I’ve spent 17 years in the United States, but I don’t go on trips unless it’s for vacation. I’m glad that my aunt came to visit or else I would have never thought to go here. I learned that I need to spent time visiting other areas in the country that I live in, instead of focusing all of my time visiting foreign countries. See you on my next adventure.
